3 procedurals for port clearance in Maldives;
The easiest way and the faster way to enter Maldives will be to get clearance from Ports of Male'. This is the main Port to Maldives and the Capital City of Maldives where all the commercial activities take place. There are other two ports where clearance can be obtained those are to the north Uligamu Port and to the south Gan Port.
1- Port of Male
Pilot embarkation and disembarkation position is Latitude: 04 10.5 N Longitude: 073 30.5E.

Restrictions:-
Vessels are not allowed to Port Maldives / Male' from 2300 hrs to 0600 hrs at any day.
Pilotage instruction:-
Pilot boarding position is Long 073 32.00 (E) Lat 01 10.00 (N) Port Control.
Vessel calling Maldives Ports should send ETA message 48 hours in advance as per Port Circular MPA-H-99-02. Vessels approaching Male' Port should contact Harbour Control on VHF channel 10, 2 hours prior to arrival at the Pilot Boarding Ground.
Maldives Cost guard maintains watch on channel 16 on 24hrs a day, and hence you are expected to adhere the following.
As you anchor, Coastguard will board with pilot for security clearance, followed by Maldives Customs officers, Immigrations officers and Port Health officers followed by our representatives / Port Harbor Officers for inward clearance.
Changing anchorage position for any reason should be informed to the port before moving and just after anchoring in new position.
All vessels after receiving out-ward clearance should inform harbor control before moving and sailing. Immobilization and hot work should be done on vessels after obtaining permission from port. Permission has to be obtained by Maldives Customs for clearances formalities and for load and unloading goods.
Only the International code of signals flag are used. Vessels entering Maldives should display international quarantine flag until Ports Authority's health officials grant health clearance. All vessels must also display original Country flag along with Maldivian flag from 0600 - 1800 hrs.
